Things to do in plakias:

Plakias and surroundings have so much to offer that is virtually impossible to get bored.First of all there are of course the numerous beaches in and around Plakias, varying from sandy to pebbles and all with crystal clear water. On most beaches you can hire sunbeds and umbrellas and a taverna is never far away for a drink, snack or meal. Nudity is allowed in certain ares and specifically on Amoudaki beach. Along the coastline are some excellent sports for snorkelling and simple snorkelling gear is sold at some of the local markets. A place for beach volleyball and variety of water sports are offered respectively on Plakias Beach and Damnoni. If you are a fan of diving or want to learn you can join one of the 3 diving schools. There is also an ideal location for cliff jumping at "One Rock".

 BOAT TRIPS

From the plakias pier there are daily boat trips to the famous Preveli Palm Forest and beach and several times a week daytrips by boat are offered to several beautiful beaches and Loutro(a beach that canot be accesed by car).

 WALKING

The surroundings of Plakias are a true paradise for the people who like to walk/hike while enjoying breath taking flora and fauna, stunning views, historic landmarks and picturesque villages. There are more than 15 walk paths in the surroundings of plakias.

 

 MOUNTAINBIKING

 Just as for hiking the surroundings of Plakias are a paradise for mountain bikers. There are 2 places in town where you can rent a mountain bike.
